Alternative BLAT Type Filter Inserts

FiltraMate BLAT Series Filter Inserts are designed as direct replacements for Original CJC BLAT Filter Inserts used in PTU oil filter separator systems.

Manufactured from premium natural cellulose fibers, our alternative BLAT Series combines fine particle filtration with continuous water separation, making it an ideal solution for turbine oils, hydraulic oils, gear oils, lubricating oils, and diesel fuels.

Unlike conventional absorbent filter elements, the BLAT design allows separated water to pass through to the separator section without causing an increase in differential pressure, ensuring stable long-term operation.

Key Features

4-in-1 Contamination Control

FM BLAT Filter Inserts remove four major contamination types simultaneously:

1. Solid Particles

  • 3 μm absolute filtration efficiency

  • Over 98.7% removal of particles larger than 3 μm

  • Improved oil cleanliness levels

  • Reduced component wear

2. Water Removal

The BLAT Series is specifically designed for continuous water separation from oils with good demulsibility.

Benefits include:

  • Removes free water from lubricating oils

  • Stable pressure drop during operation

  • Prevents corrosion and micro-pitting

  • Reduces sludge formation

  • Extends oil service life

3. Varnish & Oil Degradation Products

The cellulose depth media effectively captures:

  • Varnish

  • Oxidation products

  • Resin

  • Sludge deposits

This helps prevent:

  • Sticky control valves

  • Surface lacquering

  • Bearing failures

  • Reduced lubrication performance

4. Acidity (TAN) Stabilization

The filter media absorbs acidic degradation products, helping to:

  • Slow oil ageing

  • Lower Total Acid Number (TAN)

  • Reduce equipment wear

  • Extend lubricant life

Advanced Cellulose Depth Filtration Technology

Our BLAT Filter Inserts consist of bonded cellulose discs made from 100% natural cellulose fibers.

Features include:

  • Deep-layer filtration structure

  • Large effective filtration area

  • High dirt holding capacity

  • No plastic components

  • No metal reinforcement

  • Environmentally friendly materials

The depth filtration mechanism combines absorption and adsorption processes, enabling efficient removal of both solid and soft contaminants.

Alternative BLAT Type Filter Inserts

Continuous Water Separation Performance

Unlike conventional cellulose filter elements that become saturated and cause pressure increases, FM BLAT Filter Inserts are engineered to allow separated water to pass through to the separator element.

Advantages include:

✓ Continuous water removal

✓ Stable operating pressure

✓ Longer filter life

✓ Reduced maintenance requirements

✓ Reliable operation in high-humidity environments

This makes the BLAT Series particularly suitable for turbine and lubrication systems where water contamination is a major concern.

Contamination Holding Capacity

Actual dirt holding capacity depends on operating conditions, particle characteristics, and contamination levels.

Typical capacity for BLAT 27/27:

Contaminant TypeCapacity
Solid ParticlesUp to 4 kg
Varnish & Oxidation ProductsUp to 4 kg

The high-capacity cellulose media enables extended service intervals and lower operating costs.
